rocket fire directed at israel from hamas-controlled gaza, as well as militants and their supplies. israeli officials say three people are dead, 68 people have been wounded. officials put the gaza death toll at 104 with 860 people wounded. all the while world diplomats constantly are looking for some way to broker a cease-fire. in a little bit, you're going to hear my conversation with one of top negotiators attempting to achieve a cease-fire, the former british prime minister, tony blair. he's here in jerusalem. i spoke with him today. you're going to hear the interview. that's coming up later. we'll also hear from our cnn correspondents across israel as well as in gaza right now. earlier in the day, i went to orbkalon where i saw what was going on firsthand on the israeli side of the border. as soon as we got there, the sirens actually started going on. you could see people running towards shelters. i started running after israeli soldiers demanded that all of us -- our cnn crew, myself, we get to a shelter. usually they have about 30 seconds once the sirens go off before there a

rising in israel. hospital officials now say 24 people were wounded in this morning's bus bombing in tel aviv. no one was killed, though, but since the conflict with hamas began, five israelis have been killed. more than 70 wounded. witnesses say they saw a man throw the bag into the bus, and run away, and it blew up. official from both sides at this time yesterday, they actually believe that a cease-fire between israel and hamas was close, but diplomats today, they are furiously trying to get peace talks back on track, but there is still a lot of shock. there's action newsing other the streets of tel aviv. want to go there live to talk to sarah seidner. give us the latest of this bus bomb that went off, and what is the reaction, the response to people there about the possibility of this violence ending. >> well, you know, if you talk to people on the streets who have actually come up to us as we were in the hospital coming out on to the streets right outside the hospital where at least 22 people have been treated after this bomb blast, some of those people on the bus and some of those p

palestinians now dead as israel continues to launch those air strikes. overnight air strikes marking the deadliest attack yet in that region overnight. three chipper and at least two adults are dead and 42 more injured after two houses and a national security compound were bombed in gaza city. israel says it is now targeting hamas militants. at least three israeli civilians have died from palestinian rocket fire compared to at least 50 palestinian civilians. that's largely because of israel's iron dome here. this is a defense system that actually intercepts rockets. now, global leaders calling for an end to all of this violence, but hamas and israel have very different terms set out for a truce. we will have much more on that global reaction coming up for you in a live report happening at 6:30. >>> also new this morning, a landmark presidential visit is under way today. president obama is now the first sitting u.s. president to visit myanmar, also known as berma. during his speech at the university, the president encouraged the country to continue its transition to democracy after 49

the scenes to try to keep the conflict between israel and hamas from escalating. rockets and missiles are flying back and forth between gaza and israel with multiple deaths on both sides now. and right now there's fear this could become an all-out ground war. our senior international correspondent sara sidner is in gaza city for us right now. sara, what is the very latest on this extremely tense situation? >> reporter: we have just heard moments ago, wolf, another air strike, a huge boom and then a black plume of smoke. you can actually see that with your eyes even though it is very dark here now. as we're getting information in just right now from that latest air strike, we are hearing that there are several people who have been killed. perhaps several children. we're still looking into that right now. this is just one in a series of air strikes today that have been a barrage of blasts all day long followed by huge plumes of black smoke. but we have also seen dozens upon dozens of rockets leaving this area and areas all along the gaza strip into israel. i want to let you hear that.
